Fairy Tale

- A Worldwide Competition for Children

The Turku Philharmonic Orchestra launches a worldwide competition for children in spring 2014. The Fairy Tale – A Worldwide Competition for Children project is based on an original idea by maestro Leif Segerstam, Artistic Director of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Finland. The competition invites children to illustrate their own fantasy world, inspired by the En saga (A Fairy Tale) symphonic poem composed by Jean Sibelius.

The jury will select five winners from among the works entered into the competition and invite their creators to an international children's event held at the Turku Concert Hall in March 2015. An exhibition comprising some of the works entered into the competition will be displayed on the orchestra's website,
and at the Turku Concert Hall.

The competition is closed. The submitted art works can be found in the gallery. The winners will be contacted personally. Thank you for all participants!
